Risk and Resilience lab focuses on identifying the risk factors that increase individualsÂ鶹´«Ã½™ vulnerability to adversity, as well as the protective factors that promote positive psychological, educational, and health outcomes among vulnerable populations. Research activities of this lab involve:
- Understanding the risk and protective factors that influence individualsÂ鶹´«Ã½™ responses to traumatic life experiences, such as childhood maltreatment, life threatening illnesses or accidents, exposure to violence, and bereavement,
- Exploring the effects of trauma exposure and mental health on college studentsÂ鶹´«Ã½™ development
- Identifying the individual and societal factors that influence health and health disparities.

Student Requirements: Students will work with Dr. Boyraz on an individual basis. Mentored lab students are required to provide 4 hours of RA work.
