The Desk Assistant (DA) is an on-campus student position for Residential LIfe. Desk assistants work at the community desks located in each residence hall and the main Residential Life office. The primary duties of the DA are to provide front desk support to the Residential Life staff, students and visitors to the university. Their responsibilities include administering desk procedures, enforcing guest policies, assisting students who are locked-out of their rooms, answering phones, filing, answering emails, escorting maintenance staff, participating in on-campus events, maintaining private and confidential information, providing information and guidance to students, staff and visitors; and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Availability
Must be available to attend the mandatory staff training, as scheduled, and be available to work until the end of the academic year.
Hours
The desks operate between 9:00 am and 1:00 am daily. Each scheduled shift is 2-hours. Staff work an average of 10 hours per week with a maximum limit of 20 hours per week combined for all on-campus jobs.
Work Study Required
Work study is preferred. A limited number of part-time positions (non-work-study) are also available.
