Housing Cancellation Procedures and Fees

  • Those students, who are assigned a space in housing, must cancel their housing by submitting the . (It is located under Applications and Forms in the top navigation.)
  • Students who have moved in to their housing assignment MUST ALSO complete a MOVE OUT CONFIRMATION FORM to confirm they have completed their move out. Cancellations for these student will not be processed until that form is also received, and any reduction in fees will be based on the date that BOTH the Cancellation form and the Move Out Confirmation Form are received.
  • Upon cancellation, students will receive a refund of their $100 damage deposit (less the cost of any damages incurred if they have already moved into the residence halls).

Cancellation of Housing Before the Semester Starts

New Students

  • New students who are attending Â鶹´«Ã½ for the first time for the Fall semester are not eligible for a housing deposit refund after May 1.
  • New students who are attending Â鶹´«Ã½ for the first time for the Spring semester are not eligible for a housing deposit refund after December 1.

Returning Students

Returning students are those students who have attended Â鶹´«Ã½ previously.

Prior to Fall Semester starting, the housing deposit will be refunded according to the following schedule:

Prior to Spring Semester starting, the following cancellation fees will be charged to those students who are assigned in the fall:

Cancellation Fee and Room Rent Charges for Students After the Semester has Started:

Room rent is charged according to the following schedule for students who cancel their housing for the fall semester after the fall semester has already started:

Cancellation Form is Received and Student is Moved Out By: Room Rent Refund Amount:
First week of classes (Move in to the end of first week classes) the semester housing charges will be reduced by a prorated amount, based on the number of days they resided in housing
Second week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 70%
Third week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 25%
Fourth week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 20%
Fifth week of classes or after the semester housing charges will not be reduced

Spring Cancellation Fee Schedule

Room rent is charged according to the following schedule for students who cancel their housing for the spring semester after the spring semester has already started:

Cancellation Form is Received and Student is Moved Out By: Room Rent Refund Amount:
First week of classes Students will be refunded a prorated amount based on the number of days they resided in housing (students who lived on campus in the fall but who waited until after winter break to cancel, will also have to pay a $1000 cancellation fee, as noted above).
Second week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 70%
Third week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 25%
Fourth week of classes the semester housing charges will be reduced by 20%
Fifth week of classes or after the semester housing charges will not be reduced
