Know the issues you are voting on this November!
Proposition 1, formerly known as the New York Equal Rights Amendment, is a proposed constitutional amendment to New York State's Bill of Rights that will be on this year’s ballot. The Proposition includes anti-discrimination provisions for New Yorkers based on:
- ethnicity
- national origin
- age
- disability
- sex (including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive healthcare and autonomy)
Moderator:
- Natanya Briendel, Supervising Attorney, Uncontested Divorce Program, Pace Women’s Justice Center
Panelists:
- Shelley Mayer, New York State Senator
- Allie Bohm, Senior Counsel, New York Civil Liberties Union
